Job Summary:

Bravo Business Media, a Unilog company, is looking for a Director of Vendor Development & Relations, responsible for managing outreach development and expansion opportunities with product manufacturers within the industries served by the company on behalf of our clients, typically to deliver B2B & B2C sales technology solutions and product content management and syndication services.  This new role will develop a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled team to grow the company’s content programs and will be adept at delivering results, breaking through traditional barriers within the vendor community, and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to deliver results.

The Director of Vendor Development & Relations will create clear and attainable objectives, executing against project plans, pro-actively communicating with vendors, while obtaining resources from cross-functional teams to achieve success. The Director of Vendor Development & Relations will plan, remove roadblocks, lead communication plans, and work with Content Management teams to drive on-time and accurate product data onboarding and updates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define, develop, and enhance existing workflows, messaging, and sequences for effectively communicating with prospective and current manufacturer/vendor partners
  • Develop and manage a team of Vendor Relations Specialists to identify, contact, and implement vendor relationships via cold calls, email, and in-person meetings
  • Identify and implement successful sales and marketing strategies that accelerate vendor participation and onboarding
  • Establish and maintain key performance metrics for vendors
  • Continually work to enhance vendor programs and relationships to create additional revenue streams for the company
  • Act as a liaison between various cross-functional teams and clients to address issues and opportunities with vendors
  • Drive continuous, provable improvements and efficiencies based on data
  • Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams, having the knowledge and experience to provide support and guidance
  • Work with Divisional Heads and team to establish a delivery rhythm, ensure common priorities, manage dependencies and remove blockers
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Job Duties:

  • Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with the Company’s objectives, policies, and applicable laws.  Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, planning, assigning, and directing work, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing employee concerns, and partnering with Human Resources to resolve escalated employee matters.

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in relevant field of study such as sales or marketing management
  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree is preferred

Experience:

  • Ten or more years demonstrated experience in sales/ management, ideally with significant exposure to manufacturer/vendor challenges with content management, deployment, and syndication, especially in B2B/B2C segments
  • Proven experience aggressively prospecting and generating new vendor leads
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable results
  • Proficient project management skills with the ability to work on and track multiple projects in the face of ambiguity

Technical Skills:

  • Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Familiarity with CRM tools
  • Proficiency with social media channels for prospecting

  • Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate teams via effective communication, positive relationships, and established credibility
  • Ability to work as a team player within multi-functional and multi-disciplinary teams, sharing knowledge, contributing proactively to achieving goals and providing coaching and guidance to less experienced team members

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at a desk for 6-8 hours a day
  • Ability to work on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
  • Ability to work long and unpredictable hours
  • Ability to travel locally or nationally up to 10%; short notice travel may be required
